After arriving at Chinggis Khaan International Airport, you can purchase a Mongolian SIM card in the arrival hall. Tourist weekly SIM cards are only sold at the airport and cost approximately RMB 50–60 or around TWD 200. SIM cards require real-name registration, so please have your passport ready.

The official currency in Mongolia is the Mongolian Tögrög (MNT). Chinese yuan (RMB) and New Taiwan dollars (TWD) are not accepted. Mobile payments such as WeChat Pay or Alipay are generally not supported, except in a few merchants (look for the logo at the cashier). UnionPay debit cards, Visa, and MasterCard credit cards are widely accepted.
