Transport to Putuoshan

From Ningbo to Putuoshan, you can hire our private car to take you to the ferry port.  There are two ferry ports: Zhujiajian Wharf is the closest with better facilities, luxury speedboats, and night ferries. Shenjiamen Wharf offers frequent daytime ferries.  It is about a 10–20 minute ferry ride away.

Once on the Island, you can visit it by the ways below:

• By bus –  Private car is not allowed to run on Putuoshan Island. However, its three round-trip public bus lines cover most sites except the mountain top and run 06:30–17:00. Fare: CNY 5–10 per ride.
• By cable car to the mountain top – You can take the cable car that connects Baotuojiang Temple to Huiji Temple on Foding Mountain, and it runs 06:30–17:00 (Jun–Nov) / 07:00–16:30 (Dec–May). Fare: CNY 40 one-way, CNY 70 round-trip. Ride time: ~10 min. You
• By walking, It is a little challenging to explore without transportation. Ideal for leisurely visits to temples, pagodas, and beaches. Hiking is an option for reaching higher areas.
